We are a Brooklyn-based design and fabrication company specializing in custom metalwork.
We collaborate with a range of clients in interior and architectural design to execute projects for residential and commercial spaces, including staircases, windows, doors, sculpture, hardware, lighting, and furniture.
Our team of designers, draftspeople, welders, and machinists ensure that every project is executed with meticulous attention to detail.
In addition to our custom work, we also produce our own line of handcrafted furniture, lighting, and objects through our product design wing, Argosy Product Division (APD).
We strive to to elevate metal fabrication to the highest levels of skill, quality, precision, and artistry.
Providing an artistic perspective enables us to collaborate with our clients in order to make informed decisions ranging from welding details to hardware.
Expert knowledge of metal is at the core of our work, and we strive to reveal its expressive qualities.
We value durability, both with regards to structural integrity and our carefully applied finishes.
Argosy Product Division is a collection of furniture, lighting, and objects fabricated by the same skilled artisans that create our large-scale projects.
We channel the energy of historical eras in which the development of automobiles, aircraft, and machinery fueled an appreciation for meticulous hands-on engineering, skilled craftsmanship, and hard work.
We believe that businesses are indebted to their communities.
In partnership with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, we train apprentice fabricators in welding and a range of metal fabrication techniques to create new opportunities for members of the Brooklyn community and to build careers in the manufacturing field.
Founded in 2004 by Erik Johnson and Jen Johnson-Kuhn, Argosy Designs began in the basement of a Williamsburg apartment.
In its 15 years of operation, Argosy Designs has grown exponentially, making the move to Greenpoint to fill a 10,000 square foot workspace that houses a team of 15+ employees.
Our humble beginnings continue to inform our commitment to produce outstanding handcrafted work.
